Resume template for a full-time job
Short answer
Henrietta fits a full-time application from someone whose recent jobs were part-time or hourly. Its conventional business layout prints work experience straight after the summary, so the bullets that prove you can carry a whole workload are read early. The fictional sample is an accounts payable clerk on 25 hours a week who has covered month-end close and a colleague's leave, now applying for a 40-hour AP specialist role.

Why Henrietta suits a full-time resume
Henrietta is a plain black-and-grey business layout that finance and office teams find familiar, and it prints work experience directly after the summary. The payment runs and the weeks spent covering a full-time colleague sit right under the line that says when you can start, with the degree following before the skills grid.
Second choice: Leslie. Leslie also opens with experience after the summary, adds one touch of blue in the header, and prints skills before education, which suits you if your software matters more than the qualification.
What goes in each section, in Henrietta's order
Henrietta prints its sections in a fixed order, the same in the PDF and the Word file. Here is that order for this sample, and what to put in each section.
- Professional Summary. Three facts in three sentences: your trade, the hours you work now, and the date you could start full-time. Someone filling a 40-hour seat wants to know you are free for the whole working week, so say it in plain words instead of leaving them to work it out from job titles.
- Work Experience. Mark each part-time job as part-time, or give the weekly hours, in the title line. Then let the bullets settle the real question: monthly volume, deadlines you owned, and any stretch where you ran a full-time colleague's workload on your own.
- Education. Henrietta prints this right after your jobs. Give the qualification, school and completion month; if you studied while holding a part-time job, the overlapping dates already show how you handle a full week.
- Skills. The grid prints without group labels, so start with the processes the posting names (three-way match, reconciliations, accruals) and follow with systems. Write the exact product you used, such as NetSuite or QuickBooks Online, rather than "accounting software".

How to make the sample yours
Write your start date and notice into the summary
A full-time hire is planned around a start date. "Available from 12/2026 after two weeks' notice" saves an email exchange and shows you intend to leave your current employer properly.
Give cover periods their own bullet
If you ever ran the whole function during a vacation, a leave or a vacancy, say so and give the length of time. It is the closest thing to proof that the full-time load will not overwhelm you.
Show rising hours if yours went up
If an employer moved you from 15 to 30 hours over time, put that in the title line or a bullet. Being given more hours reads as a manager wanting more of your work.
Decide what to say about any side work
If you will keep a small weekend job or business, leave it off the page when it adds nothing to this application, and never list weekday hours for it that overlap the full-time schedule. Have a one-sentence answer ready in case it comes up.
Swap the AP detail for your own trade
A part-time pharmacy technician, store supervisor or lab assistant moving up follows the same pattern: workload per shift or month, duties you took over, and the times you stood in for a full-timer.
Keywords to keep where they are true
Terms this kind of resume is usually searched for. Use the posting's exact wording, and only for work you have done.
- accounts payable
- three-way match
- vendor reconciliation
- invoice processing
- ACH and check runs
- month-end close
- accruals
- NetSuite
- QuickBooks Online
- Excel pivot tables
- vendor setup
- payment terms
- full-time availability
Mistakes to avoid
- Dropping "part-time" from job titles so the history looks full-time. If a reference or the interviewer mentions your hours, a resume that hid them costs more trust than part-time ever would.
- Explaining why you worked part-time. Study, family or anything else is your business; the page only needs to say you are available for full-time hours now.
- Bullets written at a helper's pace ("assisted with invoices") when you owned the process. Use the verbs that match the work: processed, reconciled, ran.
- Leaving the start date for the interview. A manager with an empty seat may move ahead with the candidate who already said when they could begin.

Frequently asked questions
How do I show part-time jobs on a resume for a full-time position?
List them like any job, with "part-time" or the weekly hours in the title line. Then write bullets about volume and ownership so the reader judges the work, not the hours.
Should I write "seeking full-time" on my resume?
A short phrase such as "Available full-time" in the headline or the summary helps when your current role is part-time. If you already work full-time, leave it out; it is assumed.
Will an employer ask why I only worked part-time?
Some will. A brief, honest answer in the interview (study, family, the job was only offered part-time) is enough. Nothing about it needs to be explained on the resume.
Can I list two part-time jobs held at the same time?
Yes. Give each its own entry with overlapping dates and the hours for each. Together they show you already manage a full week, which is what a full-time employer is asking about.
How long should a full-time resume be?
One page for most people with under ten years of work, two if you have a longer record where every job adds something. The length follows your experience, not the job type.
Will applicant tracking systems read this Henrietta PDF?
The sample PDF read back with its contact details, all 4 section headings and all 8 bullets intact in three open-source text extractors (pdf.js, pdftotext and pypdf). Commercial systems such as Workday, Greenhouse or Taleo were not tested, and each employer configures its own.
