Resume and job search research, 2026
Two kinds of page live here. The statistics pages collect numbers about resumes, applicant tracking systems, job searching and hiring, and every number names its source, who was asked, how many and when. The Reddit roundups summarise what real threads recommend, with the threads linked and the mentions counted.
Which statistics pages are there?
Each page answers one question per block: the question, a one-line answer with the number, then the source and its method. The numbers are re-checked on the review date shown on each page, and the year in the title moves on each January.
Resume Statistics 2026
22 sourced numbers · 11 sources · updated 14 October 2026
Every number on this page names who was asked or measured, how many, how and when. Where a famous figure rests on a vendor pitch or a tiny sample, we say so, and the myths section traces the most repeated ones. India figures come from Naukri's investor filings, LinkedIn and the government's labour force survey.
ATS Statistics 2026
24 sourced numbers · 17 sources · updated 14 October 2026
Applicant tracking systems are nearly universal at large employers, but most of what job seekers hear about them has no source. This page gives each number with who was measured, how and when, separates using an ATS from being rejected by one, and traces the famous "75% auto-rejected" figure back to a 2012 sales pitch.
Job Search Statistics 2026
24 sourced numbers · 16 sources · updated 14 October 2026
These are the job search numbers we could trace to a named source with a stated sample and date. Government data (US Bureau of Labor Statistics, New York Fed) sits next to data from hiring software and job-tracking apps, which measure their own users rather than everyone, so each figure says whose behaviour it describes. India-specific job search data is thin; where it exists we include it and say how it was collected.
India Job Market and Hiring Statistics 2026
25 sourced numbers · 14 sources · updated 14 October 2026
These are the numbers we use when someone asks how hard it is to get hired in India right now. Government survey figures come straight from MoSPI's own releases, with the survey period and measure named, because the same month can show 5.0% or 3.1% unemployment depending on which measure you read. Hiring-platform and employer-survey figures are labelled as such, with their sample and dates.
AI in Job Search and Hiring Statistics 2026
18 sourced numbers · 13 sources · updated 14 October 2026
Most AI-in-hiring numbers come from companies that sell hiring or resume software, so on this page every figure names who ran the survey, how many people answered, and when. Where independent research or a government audit exists we put it next to the vendor surveys, and we flag the claims that circulate without any study behind them.
What does Reddit say about resume tools?
These pages read real Reddit threads through a public archive, count which tools the replies recommend or criticise, and quote short excerpts with links to the threads. Resumity publishes them, and each one says plainly whether Reddit mentions Resumity.
Best Resume Builder According to Reddit (2026)
18 threads · checked 14 October 2026
We read 18 Reddit threads, posted between June 2024 and September 2026, where people asked which resume builder to use, and counted the tools named in 137 top-level replies. The consensus is that you do not need a paid builder: Google Docs, Word, Overleaf and Canva cover the layout, and ChatGPT is the most-suggested helper for the wording.
Best ATS Resume Checker According to Reddit (2026)
19 threads · checked 14 October 2026
We read 19 Reddit threads, posted between August 2024 and July 2026, where people asked which ATS resume checker to trust, and counted what 84 top-level replies said. The consensus is blunt: no public checker can show how an employer's system will treat you, so use them only to spot missing keywords or parsing problems, never as a score to chase.
Is Jobscan Worth It? What Reddit Says (2026)
20 threads · checked 14 October 2026
We read 20 Reddit threads, posted between June 2024 and June 2026, that ask whether Jobscan works, and counted what 93 top-level replies said about it. Jobscan was criticised in 12 replies and suggested in 5: the common view is that its match rate does not show how employers' systems read a resume, and that ChatGPT does the same keyword comparison for free.
