CV template for Greece (Greek CV format)
Short answer
Henrietta suits a Greek CV (viografikó simeíoma) in shipping or business: a short profile, then work history, education and skills, with seminars listed at the end. EURES and the career office of the National and Kapodistrian University of Athens both say one to two pages, and the university adds that it is written in the language of the job ad. The fictional sample is an operations executive at a dry bulk shipping company in Piraeus.

Why Henrietta suits a Greece resume
Henrietta prints education straight after the jobs and ahead of skills, so degrees and training sit high on the page, in a conventional black and grey business layout. Its custom section at the end holds the seminars that EURES asks applicants to list with title, duration and organiser.
Second choice: Leslie. Leslie also opens on experience but prints skills before education and adds a blue header; pick it when your systems matter more than your degrees.
What goes in each section, in Henrietta's order
Henrietta prints its sections in a fixed order, the same in the PDF and the Word file. Here is that order for this sample, and what to put in each section.
- Professional Summary. Two or three lines on the vessel types, trades and tasks you handle. NKUA's career office says a CV is never written in the first person, so drop "I" and start with your role.
- Work Experience. EURES asks for job titles, previous employers, dates of employment and the duties you carried out. AUEB's career office adds reverse chronological order, so the current job opens the section.
- Education. Reverse chronological again, as AUEB advises: a master's degree above the first degree, each with the institution and years. A dissertation line helps only when it relates to the job.
- Skills. EURES says to mention foreign languages with your level and any qualifications. AUEB suggests the certificate, the body that awarded it and your current level; Henrietta prints skill groups without labels, so keep languages in a group of their own.
- Seminars. EURES asks for the title, subject and duration of seminars you attended, with the organising body. One line per seminar, newest first, is enough.

How to make the sample yours
Write in the language of the advert
NKUA's career office says the CV and cover letter are always in the language of the job ad. A Greek-language advert gets a Greek CV; the sample is in English, as for an English-language advert.
Keep to one or two pages
EURES says a Greek CV should be short, one to two pages, with a clear description of education and experience; NKUA gives the same range. Tailor the content to each advert, as EURES also asks.
References: listed or on request
EURES says two or three recommendations from people of recognised academic or professional standing may close the CV, with contact details. AUEB's samples write "available on request" instead and advise keeping at least two referees ready, ideally one academic and one from work.
Choose your personal details
EURES lists full name, address, telephone and email. AUEB's list adds date of birth, and nationality especially for adverts abroad, while calling marital status unnecessary. The template has no birth date field; add it under your name in Word if you include it.
Watch for company application forms
EURES notes that many Greek companies use their own application forms, and that employment services work with the DYPA online template or Europass. When a form or template is required, copy your content into it.

Frequently asked questions
How long should a CV be in Greece?
One to two pages. EURES asks for a short CV of that length, and NKUA's career office gives the same range.
Should my Greek CV be in Greek or English?
Use the language of the job ad, as NKUA's career office advises for both the CV and the cover letter.
Do I list references on a Greek CV?
Sources differ. EURES says two or three recommendations with contact details may close the CV; AUEB's career office writes "available on request" and suggests keeping two referees ready.
Should I add my date of birth or a photo?
AUEB's career office lists date of birth among personal details; EURES's list does not. None of the sources checked mentions a photo. Resumity templates print none; add one in Word to the DOCX file if an employer asks.
Do Greek employers use their own application forms?
Many do, according to EURES, and public and private employment services each use their own CV template, most often the DYPA online template or Europass.
Will applicant tracking systems read this Henrietta PDF?
The sample PDF read back with its contact details, all 5 section headings and all 7 bullets intact in three open-source text extractors (pdf.js, pdftotext and pypdf). Commercial systems such as Workday, Greenhouse or Taleo were not tested, and each employer configures its own.
