CV template for Serbia (Serbian CV format)

Short answer

Daniel suits a Serbian CV (radna biografija) for a designer: a short profile, skills, work history and a portfolio project under soft grey heading pills. The National Employment Service (NSZ) sets two A4 pages as the limit and asks for reverse chronological order, and the University of Belgrade's career centre says date of birth, marital status and nationality can be left out. The fictional sample is a UX/UI designer in Novi Sad.

Why Daniel suits a Serbia resume

Daniel is the template aimed at designers and product people: section headings sit in rounded grey pills and skills print in a three-column grid, a softer look than plain rules. It prints skills, then jobs, then projects ahead of education, so a portfolio case study is read before the degree.

Second choice: Olivia. Olivia keeps the same section order but adds a full-width blue header band; pick it when you want the page to stand out on screen.

Daniel template details and test results

What goes in each section, in Daniel's order

Daniel prints its sections in a fixed order, the same in the PDF and the Word file. Here is that order for this sample, and what to put in each section.

  1. Professional Summary. NSZ suggests writing in the third person or the passive voice, which reads as objective and professional. Three lines without "I": role, years, the products you design and the tools you design in.
  2. Skills. Daniel's grid prints skill groups without labels, so keep languages in a group of their own. The Belgrade career centre suggests the European scale: beginner (A1, A2), intermediate (B1, B2), advanced (C1, C2).
  3. Work Experience. The Belgrade centre asks for the period, the company or organisation, your position and a description of your tasks, all in reverse chronological order from the most recent. NSZ gives the same order.
  4. Projects. One portfolio case study: the problem, your part, how you tested it and what changed. Put the portfolio link in the header so the reader can open the full study.
  5. Education. Degree, school, city and years, newest first like every other section. A design degree and one relevant course are enough once you have several years of work.

How to make the sample yours

Two pages at most

NSZ says a CV should not be longer than two A4 pages. The Belgrade career centre says one to two pages are enough and that employers will most likely not have time to read more than three.

Leave the personal details out

The Belgrade centre calls date of birth unnecessary information and says marital status, nationality, whether you smoke or have children can be left out freely.

Photo: allowed, often recommended

NSZ says you can put a photo in the top right corner if it makes you look businesslike, reliable and pleasant; the Belgrade centre says it is not required unless the advert asks, but recommends one. Resumity templates print none; insert it at the top right in Word in the DOCX file.

Keep references ready, off the page

The Belgrade centre says references are not a necessary part of the CV, though employers sometimes ask, and that it is good to have two. Pick people who have known your work for a long time.

Use a professional email address

The Belgrade centre warns that playful addresses are not representative and should be kept for private messages. A plain name-based address goes in the header.

Check every fact

NSZ reminds applicants that the information in a CV must be accurate, or they risk being found out at the interview. Keep the figures in your bullets to ones you can explain.

Keywords to keep where they are true

Terms this kind of resume is usually searched for. Use the posting's exact wording, and only for work you have done.

  • UX design
  • UI design
  • user research

  • prototyping
  • design systems
  • Figma
  • accessibility (WCAG)

Mistakes to avoid

  • Opening the profile with "I am a passionate designer"; NSZ suggests the third person or the passive voice.
  • Adding marital status, nationality or whether you have children, which the Belgrade career centre says you can leave out.
  • Running to a third page when NSZ sets two A4 pages as the limit.
  • Sending the CV from a joke email address; the Belgrade centre says to keep those for private messages.
