Agile coach resume template
Short answer
Catalyst fits a senior agile coach. It starts with your current engagement and has no summary section, so the headline carries the credentials (ICP-ACC, SAFe SPC) and the first bullets carry the scope: leaders coached, teams and release trains supported. The fictional sample coaches the lending division of a bank after four years with a consultancy and an earlier start as a Scrum Master.

Why Catalyst suits an agile coach resume
Catalyst opens with work experience and prints no summary, so the page goes from a headline naming your coaching credentials straight to the change you are leading now. That suits a senior coach whose current engagement is the argument, and its teal headings over full-width rules keep a three-job history easy to scan.
Second choice: Henrietta. Henrietta keeps a summary and a conventional business look, useful when a short paragraph must explain a move from consulting into an in-house coaching job.
What goes in each section, in Catalyst's order
Catalyst prints its sections in a fixed order, the same in the PDF and the Word file. Here is that order for this sample, and what to put in each section.
- Work Experience. Lead with scope a hiring executive can picture: how many teams or trains, which leaders, what change. Then show what kept working after you stepped back, such as internal Scrum Masters who now run events alone. Coaching that leaves an organization dependent on the coach reads as a weak result.
- Skills. Separate coaching work (one-to-one, team, leadership) from framework work (PI Planning, portfolio Kanban). Tools come last; coaching jobs are rarely won on Jira Align, though large SAFe shops do search for it.
- Education. A single line. Coaches are hired on track record, and a degree in an unrelated field raises no questions.
- Certifications. Coaching-specific credentials such as ICAgile's ICP-ACC weigh more here than a foundation Scrum certificate. Catalyst prints them near the bottom, so repeat the one or two that matter in the headline.
- Talks and community. Talks, meetups and communities of practice show you teach beyond one client. Keep two or three items, each with its topic in a few words.

How to make the sample yours
Replace the transformation with your own
The sample describes a move from annual project funding to product teams. Write the change you were brought in for, in the employer's words, and how far it has got.
Show independence, not dependence
For each engagement, keep one bullet about what the organization can now do without you: internal coaches trained, events run by staff, a community that meets on its own.
Separate training from coaching
Classroom numbers ("taught 200 people") are easy to inflate and say little about coaching. Pair any training figure with a bullet about a team or leader you worked with over months.
Match the framework vocabulary to the employer
If the posting comes from a SAFe organization, keep PI Planning and SPC near the top. For a company running plain Scrum or Kanban, cut the SAFe terms back so you do not read as a framework installer.
Shorten the oldest role
Two bullets for your Scrum Master years show where you started. The space is better spent on coaching scope.
Keywords to keep where they are true

Mistakes to avoid
- Calling a transformation finished because a framework was rolled out. Say what changed in how people plan, decide and deliver.
- A long list of every framework you have read about; coaches are asked to defend each one in interview.
- Training headcounts with no coaching result attached.
- Naming client companies that a consultancy agreement keeps confidential. Describe them by industry and size.
How the sample PDF reads in text extractors
We exported this sample with Resumity's PDF exporter in Chrome on 2026-10-29 and read the file back with three open-source text extractors. This shows whether software that turns a PDF into text can recover it; it is not a test of any commercial applicant tracking system. How we test templates.

Frequently asked questions
Which certifications matter most for an agile coach?
Ones about coaching rather than a single framework. ICAgile's ICP-ACC covers coaching, mentoring, teaching and handling conflict in teams; SAFe's SPC matters mainly where an organization runs SAFe. A foundation Scrum certificate is expected but rarely decides a coaching hire.
How do I move from Scrum Master to agile coach on paper?
Show work beyond one team: coaching other Scrum Masters, a cross-team event you facilitated, a leader you supported. Title each job as it really was and let the bullets show the wider reach.
Can an agile coach resume run to two pages?
Yes, after ten or more years, especially with several engagements. Keep the first page for your current and previous coaching roles, and shorten anything older to two lines.
How do I show results when coaching is hard to measure?
Describe observable changes: events teams now run without you, decisions made with data, waiting work made visible and reduced. Flow metrics before and after help where the teams tracked them.
Is a professional coaching credential worth listing?
Yes, if you hold one, because it shows training in coaching conversations and not only in frameworks. List it with the issuing body and the year, like any other certification.
Will applicant tracking systems read this Catalyst PDF?
The sample PDF read back with its contact details, all 5 section headings and all 9 bullets intact in three open-source text extractors (pdf.js, pdftotext and pypdf). Commercial systems such as Workday, Greenhouse or Taleo were not tested, and each employer configures its own.
