Email marketer resume template
Short answer
Meridian suits email marketers because it prints labelled skill rows above the jobs, and the first filter on many postings is the sending platform: Klaviyo, Braze, HubSpot or Marketing Cloud. The fictional sample runs a 420,000-subscriber pet supply list, built a replenishment flow timed to reorder cycles and set up sender authentication with one-click unsubscribe, after earlier B2B nurture work in HubSpot.

Why Meridian suits an email marketer resume
Meridian puts the skills block, with Technical, Tools and Soft Skills labels, directly under the summary. Email roles are often screened on the platform and on HTML and segmentation ability, so naming Klaviyo, HubSpot, Liquid and SPF, DKIM and DMARC in those rows answers the screener before the first job starts.
Second choice: FAANGPath. FAANGPath also prints skills first, under full-width heading rules; a fit for lifecycle roles that lean on SQL, APIs and data work.
What goes in each section, in Meridian's order
Meridian prints its sections in a fixed order, the same in the PDF and the Word file. Here is that order for this sample, and what to put in each section.
- Professional Summary. Say which kind of program you run (e-commerce campaigns and flows, B2B nurture, in-product lifecycle messages) and the size of the list. Then add the part many email marketers leave to others, such as coding templates or owning deliverability, if that part is yours.
- Skills. Technical holds methods: lifecycle flows, segmentation, testing, HTML email and the templating language. Tools starts with the sending platform, then testing and inbox tools such as Litmus and Postmaster Tools, then the store or CRM it connects to. Two or three soft skills are plenty.
- Work Experience. Lead with programs rather than sends: which flows you built, what triggers them and what they earn. Add one bullet on list health or authentication and one on testing. Revenue per recipient and conversion carry more weight than open rate.
- Education. Marketing, communications or business on one line. Vendor courses belong in the skills rows, or in a certifications line only while they are current.

Clara Lindqvist
Email and Lifecycle Marketing Specialist
Denver, CO | clara.lindqvist@example.com | (720) 555-0164 | linkedin.com/in/sample-clara-lindqvist
Email and lifecycle marketer with five years in e-commerce and B2B software. Builds automated flows in Klaviyo and HubSpot, codes the templates and keeps the sending domain healthy enough that messages land in the inbox.
Experience
Email and Lifecycle Marketing Specialist, Fernhollow Pet Supply, Denver, CO (02/2023 to Present)
- Run Klaviyo for a list of 420,000 subscribers: two to three campaigns a week and 14 automated flows, including welcome, browse, cart, replenishment and win-back.
- Built a replenishment flow timed to each food bag size and typical reorder interval; it now brings in about 12% of email revenue.
- Moved sending to a branded subdomain with SPF, DKIM and DMARC aligned and one-click unsubscribe; the spam complaint rate in Postmaster Tools stays under 0.1%.
- Ran a re-permission series, then suppressed subscribers with no clicks in 180 days; the list shrank by 15% while revenue per recipient rose.
- Coded modular templates in HTML and Liquid with dynamic product blocks, so new campaigns take an afternoon instead of two days.
Marketing Coordinator, Email, Ledgerkite Software, Boulder, CO (07/2020 to 01/2023)
- Built HubSpot nurture sequences for trial users by job role; in a six-week test, the role-based version converted more trials to paid plans than the generic one.
- Maintained lead scoring and list segmentation with sales operations.
- Wrote and sent the monthly customer newsletter to 30,000 contacts.

How to make the sample yours
Swap in your sending platform
Rewrite Klaviyo as Braze, Iterable, Mailchimp, HubSpot or Marketing Cloud, and replace Liquid with the templating language you have actually written (AMPscript, Handlebars). Keep the headline, the skills rows and the bullets consistent with each other.
Measure with clicks and revenue, not opens
Some mail apps fetch images automatically, so opens overstate attention. Give click rate, conversion, revenue per recipient or the share of email revenue from flows; for B2B, meetings booked or trial-to-paid conversion.
Write down your deliverability work
Setting up authentication, warming a new sending domain, cleaning a list or bringing complaints down all count. Plenty of teams treat deliverability as somebody else's problem, so owning it sets you apart.
Name the flows you built from scratch
Welcome, abandoned cart, browse, post-purchase, replenishment, win-back, onboarding. Say which you created and which you inherited and improved, because interviewers will ask.
Give the size of your send
A list of 5,000 and a list of 2 million call for different skills. State subscribers or contacts and how often you send, so a reader can judge every percentage on the page.

Mistakes to avoid
- Leading with open rates. Image preloading by some mail apps inflates them, and experienced email leads discount them.
- Listing Mailchimp, Klaviyo, HubSpot, Braze and Marketo when you have only logged into two of them.
- Counting campaigns sent ("sent 200 emails") rather than programs built and what they returned.
- Leaving out list size and send frequency, which makes every rate on the page impossible to judge.
How the sample PDF reads in text extractors
We exported this sample with Resumity's PDF exporter in Chrome on 2026-10-29 and read the file back with three open-source text extractors. This shows whether software that turns a PDF into text can recover it; it is not a test of any commercial applicant tracking system. How we test templates.
| Extractor | Name, email, phone | Headings | Bullets intact |
|---|---|---|---|
| pdf.js 4.10.38 | All found | 4 of 4 | 8 of 8 |
| pdftotext (Xpdf) 4.00 | All found | 4 of 4 | 8 of 8 |
| pypdf 6.13.0 | All found | 4 of 4 | 8 of 8 |
Frequently asked questions
Should I still report open rates on an email resume?
Sparingly. Apple says its Protect Mail Activity feature downloads remote content in the background whether or not the reader engages with the message, which many tools count as an open. Click rate, conversions and revenue per recipient are steadier evidence.
Do email marketers need to show HTML skills?
It depends on the team. Many postings ask for comfort editing HTML and a templating language; others use drag-and-drop builders only. If you code templates, say so and name the language; if not, list the builder and the design tools you use.
Is it worth mentioning sender authentication and bulk-sender rules?
Yes, if you did the work. Google's guidelines for bulk senders to personal Gmail accounts require SPF, DKIM and a DMARC record, one-click unsubscribe for marketing messages and a spam rate in Postmaster Tools below 0.30%. One line showing you met them proves you understand deliverability.
I have only used one email platform; will that hold me back?
Less than you might think. Segments, triggers, dynamic content and testing work the same way across platforms. Name the one you know well, describe the concepts in your bullets and learn the new platform's terms before the interview.
How do I show results for B2B email where revenue is not tracked?
Use the steps that are tracked: demo requests, meetings sales booked from nurtured leads, trial-to-paid conversion or how quickly a lead reaches sales. The sample's HubSpot job uses a test between a role-based and a generic sequence.
Will applicant tracking systems read this Meridian PDF?
The sample PDF read back with its contact details, all 4 section headings and all 8 bullets intact in three open-source text extractors (pdf.js, pdftotext and pypdf). Commercial systems such as Workday, Greenhouse or Taleo were not tested, and each employer configures its own.
