Experience-focused resume template built on achievements
Short answer
Catalyst is the most experience-focused of Resumity's seven templates: it has no summary block, so the page runs from a large left-aligned name straight into your current job, then skills and education. With nothing above the jobs, the bullets carry the whole argument, so each one should be an achievement rather than a duty. The fictional sample is a senior account executive selling payroll software, with quota, deal size and cycle-time results in every role.

Why Catalyst suits an experience-focused resume
Catalyst prints no summary paragraph and opens on work experience under a large left-aligned name, with teal headings and IBM Plex Sans. It is meant for experienced people whose recent work carries the application, which is exactly the situation when a quota record is the strongest thing you have to show.
Second choice: Leslie. Leslie also prints experience ahead of skills but keeps a short summary above it, under a centred blue header; pick it if two sentences of context would help a reader understand your role.
What goes in each section, in Catalyst's order
Catalyst prints its sections in a fixed order, the same in the PDF and the Word file. Here is that order for this sample, and what to put in each section.
- Work Experience. Every bullet pairs a result with its measure (attainment against quota, deal value, sales cycle, win rate) and then says in a few words how you got there. Inside each role, the heaviest result goes first even if it happened last, because Catalyst places that first line directly under your name.
- Skills. Labelled rows follow the jobs, so by the time anyone reaches them your record has already made the case. Use them as a checklist for a sales leader: the qualification method you run deals with, your CRM, the call recording and sequencing tools.
- Education. A single line. Seven years into a quota-carrying career, the degree matters far less than the numbers above it, so GPA, minors and coursework can all come off.
- Awards. A short "Awards" list for ranked recognition, always with the size of the field ("top 4 of 55 sellers"). Catalyst prints this list at the very end, so the biggest award is also mentioned inside the bullet for that year.

How to make the sample yours
Ask "so what?" of every bullet
"Managed a territory of 400 accounts" says what the job was. "Grew a 400-account territory from $1.1M to $1.8M in recurring revenue" says what you did with it. If nothing changed because of you, the line is a duty: cut it or dig out the result.
Anchor each number
A figure on its own is hard to judge. Give it something to be measured against: the quota, last year, the team average or the size of the field. From, to and against are what turn a number into an achievement.
Order bullets by weight
Chronology inside a role does not matter to a reader. Lead with the result that best matches the job you want, then the method behind it, then supporting detail.
Translate the measures for your field
Customer success managers can use renewal rate and expansion revenue; recruiters, roles filled and time to fill; operations staff, cost per unit and on-time rate. The shape stays the same: result, measure, method.
Keep the evidence somewhere
For each figure, know where it came from: a CRM report, a ranking email, a performance review. An interviewer who asks how you counted should get a clear answer.
Keywords to keep where they are true
Terms this kind of resume is usually searched for. Use the posting's exact wording, and only for work you have done.

- new business
- full-cycle sales
- mid-market
- pipeline generation
- discovery calls
- MEDDICC
- Salesforce
- Gong
- annual recurring revenue
- win rate
- contract negotiation
- sales forecasting
- President's Club
Mistakes to avoid
- Percentages with no base, such as "grew revenue 300%". When the starting point was small, show the amounts instead and let the reader judge.
- Presenting a team number as your own. Write "with two SDRs" or "one of four reps on the account" where others shared the work; references are often asked about exactly these claims.
- Lines that begin "Responsible for". They restate the job description and leave out what you achieved in the job.
- Naming customers or quoting their contract values when your agreements keep them confidential. Describe them by sector and size.
How the sample PDF reads in text extractors
We exported this sample with Resumity's PDF exporter in Chrome on 2026-10-29 and read the file back with three open-source text extractors. This shows whether software that turns a PDF into text can recover it; it is not a test of any commercial applicant tracking system. How we test templates.

Frequently asked questions
How is an experience-focused resume different from a skills-focused one?
An experience-focused page leads with your jobs and lets their results make the case, with skills as a short reference list afterwards. A skills-focused page puts strengths first and suits career changers. If your recent work is in the field you are applying to, lead with it.
How do I write achievements when my job has no obvious numbers?
Look for volume, time, quality and scope: accounts handled, days saved, errors caught, people trained, the size of what you looked after. A before and after ("from a weekly spreadsheet to a live dashboard") is an achievement even without a percentage.
How many achievement bullets should each job get?
Four to six for your current or latest role, two or three for older ones, and a line or two for anything early in your career. In Catalyst the first job sits right under your name, so it deserves the most space.
What if I missed my target one year?
Keep the role and its dates, and lead with what you did deliver that year: new logos, one large deal, a ranking. You do not need to print every year's attainment, but what you print should represent your record fairly, and you should be ready to discuss the rest.
Where should sales awards go on the page?
Inside the bullet for the year you earned them, and again in a short Awards list. Catalyst prints that list last, so the mention in the bullet is the one most readers will see.
Will applicant tracking systems read this Catalyst PDF?
The sample PDF read back with its contact details, all 4 section headings and all 10 bullets intact in three open-source text extractors (pdf.js, pdftotext and pypdf). Commercial systems such as Workday, Greenhouse or Taleo were not tested, and each employer configures its own.
