Peruvian CV template: how to set out a currículum vitae
Short answer
Meridian suits a Peruvian currículum: a short personal presentation, skills, jobs newest first, the degree and extra courses. Peru's Labour Ministry (MTPE) lists six blocks: personal data, a personal presentation, education, work experience, skills and achievements, and complementary training. It also says the CV should not run past two pages and a photo is optional. The fictional sample is an accountant at a distribution company in Lima.

Why Meridian suits a Peru resume
Meridian prints a summary, labelled skills rows and then experience, in black and grey with grey rules beside each heading. The MTPE asks for a uniform, legible font, highlighted subheadings and margins that are neither too wide nor too tight, and this plain single-column page gives exactly that.
Second choice: Henrietta. Henrietta puts education straight after the jobs, a fit for public sector or academic applications.
What goes in each section, in Meridian's order
Meridian prints its sections in a fixed order, the same in the PDF and the Word file. Here is that order for this sample, and what to put in each section.
- Professional Summary. The MTPE calls this the presentación personal. Keep it to two or three short sentences on your field, years of experience and what you are looking for; the ministry asks for short, simple sentences and careful spelling.
- Skills. The MTPE groups skills with achievements. Use the rows for tools and methods, and keep the achievements as numbers inside the job bullets below.
- Work Experience. Newest job first, as the MTPE asks. Give the company, position, dates and bullets that use the keywords from the job advert you are answering.
- Education. The MTPE lists formación académica as its own block. Give the degree, university and year, and add the professional title or bar membership if you hold one.
- Complementary training. The MTPE treats formación complementaria (courses, diplomas, certifications) as a separate block. Use the extra list for it, newest first, with the institution and year.

How to make the sample yours
Add the personal data line in Word
The MTPE starts the CV with datos personales but does not say which ones. The template prints name, city, phone and email; if an employer asks for more, such as your DNI number, type it as one line under your name in the DOCX.
Photo: optional, and only a good one
The MTPE says the photo is optional and should add value: sharp, recent and in suitable clothes, or left out. Resumity templates print none; insert one in Word if you decide to use it.
Two pages at most
The ministry says a CV should not exceed two pages. Cut older jobs to one line each before you cut recent results.
Mirror the job advert
The MTPE asks you to adapt the CV to each vacancy and include the keywords from the job profile. Change the presentación personal and the first bullets for each application.
Public sector: the CV documentado
State bodies run their own forms. In a SUNARP merit competition, for example, the applicant sends the entity's CV format in PDF with copies of every supporting document, each page numbered and signed. Use the entity's format there, not this template.
Keywords to keep where they are true
Terms this kind of resume is usually searched for. Use the posting's exact wording, and only for work you have done.

- NIIF
- SUNAT
- PDT y PLE
- conciliaciones bancarias

Mistakes to avoid
- Going past two pages, which the MTPE advises against.
- Sending a photo that is blurred, old or in casual clothes; the MTPE says to leave it out instead.
- Using one generic CV for every job instead of adapting it to the vacancy, as the MTPE asks.
- Listing jobs oldest first; the ministry asks for newest first.
- Sending a private-sector CV to a public merit competition that requires the entity's own format and signed supporting documents.

Frequently asked questions
What sections does a Peruvian CV need?
The Labour Ministry (MTPE) lists six: personal data, a personal presentation, academic education, work experience, skills and achievements, and complementary training. Meridian prints all of them, with the training block as the extra list.
How long should a CV be in Peru?
No more than two pages, according to the MTPE. Use short sentences and keep the most important information near the top.
Is a photo required on a Peruvian CV?
No. The MTPE says it is optional and should only be added if it is sharp, recent and in suitable clothes. Resumity templates print none, so insert one in Word if you use it.
Should I send my CV as a PDF?
Yes. The MTPE suggests converting the finished CV to PDF before sending it or uploading it to job boards.
How is a CV for a public job in Peru different?
Public bodies use their own CV format and ask for proof. In a SUNARP merit competition, applicants send the entity's format in PDF with copies of every supporting document, with each page numbered and signed, and missing this can disqualify you.
Where can I get free help with my CV in Peru?
The MTPE runs a free job search advice service (Asesoría para la Búsqueda de Empleo) that you can book online through its extranet.
Will applicant tracking systems read this Meridian PDF?
The sample PDF read back with its contact details, all 5 section headings and all 7 bullets intact in three open-source text extractors (pdf.js, pdftotext and pypdf). Commercial systems such as Workday, Greenhouse or Taleo were not tested, and each employer configures its own.
