CV template for Spain (Spanish currículum format)
Short answer
Leslie suits a Spanish CV: a job title and a few lines of profile under the name, then experience ahead of skills, on one page where possible, as SEPE, the state employment service, advises. SEPE recommends a photo for Spain while EURES calls it optional; Resumity templates print none. The fictional sample is a hotel front office supervisor in Málaga who works in three languages.

Why Leslie suits a Spain resume
Leslie prints the profile, then work experience before skills and education, close to SEPE's outline of a title and short profile, then experience, then training, languages and computer skills. The centred blue header adds one touch of colour without the graphics, boxes and tables SEPE warns keyword screening software cannot read.
Second choice: Henrietta. Henrietta keeps experience first in black and grey and puts training straight after the jobs; pick it if you want no colour at all.
What goes in each section, in Leslie's order
Leslie prints its sections in a fixed order, the same in the PDF and the Word file. Here is that order for this sample, and what to put in each section.
- Professional Summary. SEPE asks for a title that names the job you want or your professional profile, as a phrase or a short paragraph of three or four lines with your strongest features. The sample's headline is the title and its summary is that paragraph.
- Work Experience. Start with the most recent job and drop those with no link to your goal, SEPE says. Give the dates of each role and the company's name or sector, and back results with figures where you can.
- Skills. SEPE notes that computer and language skills matter in many jobs and asks you to state your level in each. In hotels, list every working language with a level, as the sample does.
- Education. Your level of study and the diplomas or professional certificates linked to the job, newest first. SEPE suggests turning training courses into the skills they gave you instead of listing courses and hours.

How to make the sample yours
Head it with your name, not "Currículum Vitae"
SEPE says there is no need to head the document "CV" or "Currículum Vitae". Open with your full name and contact details, and put your country's dialling code before the phone number.
One page if you can
SEPE asks you to try to keep the CV to one page, two at most with long experience; EURES says it is best limited to two A4 pages.
Photo: recommended in Spain, still optional
SEPE recommends a good passport-style or half-length photo on a neutral background for Spain; EURES says a photo is not compulsory, though it may help for some jobs. Resumity templates print none, so add one in Word to the DOCX file if you decide to include it.
Leave out personal and salary details
SEPE advises against salary expectations and personal details such as marital status, children, religion or politics on the CV.
Translate it into Spanish
EURES says the CV and cover letter must be written in Spanish unless the employer indicates otherwise. The sample is in English so readers outside Spain can follow it; translate every line before applying.

Mistakes to avoid

- Listing former employers as references. SEPE prefers you leave them off; at most add "disponibles bajo petición" (available on request).
- Writing salary expectations on the CV.
- Sending a heavily designed CV into a company database; SEPE warns that keyword screening systems do not read graphics, boxes or tables.
- Attaching photocopies of diplomas when the ad has not asked for them; EURES says they are not normally attached.
