Resume template for Denmark: the Danish CV, section by section
Short answer
Henrietta handles a Danish CV well: a short profile led by your degree and hard skills, jobs with measurable results, then education, a skills grid that includes languages, and an "About me" list at the end, the place Workindenmark suggests for age, family and spare time. Aarhus University's career service recommends a photo, which you add in Word. The fictional sample is a supply chain planner in Aarhus.

Why Henrietta suits a Denmark resume
Henrietta is a single-column Inter layout with a left-aligned name, close to what Aalborg University's CV guidance asks for (one column, left alignment, a font without serifs). It prints the profile, experience and education first, then a three-column skills grid, with the About me list last.
Second choice: Leslie. Leslie prints experience before skills too but places skills above education, and adds a centred blue header if you want one touch of colour.
What goes in each section, in Henrietta's order
Henrietta prints its sections in a fixed order, the same in the PDF and the Word file. Here is that order for this sample, and what to put in each section.
- Professional Summary. Workindenmark places the personal profile at the top, typically 4 to 8 lines, built on the three competences that match the job; Aarhus University suggests 5 to 7 lines. Open with your degree and hard skills, not with career goals, and rewrite it for every application.
- Work Experience. Workindenmark asks for results, with numbers where possible, and warns that companies abroad may be unknown in Denmark: say what the firm makes, how big it is and where it is based. The first bullet under the sample's German employer does exactly that.
- Education. Degree, field, school and dates, plus the bachelor project if it relates to the job. Aarhus University says a recent graduate can move education above experience; Henrietta places it straight after the jobs, the highest any of these templates puts it.
- Skills. Aarhus University calls it standard practice to state language proficiency and IT skills. Henrietta shows skill groups in unlabelled columns, so keep three groups (planning methods, systems, languages) and each one fills a column.
- About me. Workindenmark says it is normal to mention your age, whether you are married and have children, and what you do in your spare time, perhaps under "About me" at the end. It stays optional, and Aarhus University advises leaving out things like where you grew up or your partner's job.

How to make the sample yours
Rewrite the profile for each posting
Workindenmark says recruiters expect the profile to change with each application. Swap the competences in the second sentence for the three the advertisement stresses, and keep the degree in the first.
Add a photo in Word
Aarhus University recommends always having a picture on your CV, in colour or black and white, with a neutral background. Resumity templates have no photo area, so insert it into the DOCX in Word, next to your name.
Explain every employer outside Denmark
A Danish recruiter may not know a German gearbox maker or a Polish software house. One line on what the company does, how many people it employs and where it is based answers that, as Workindenmark suggests.
Count student jobs and internships
Workindenmark tells applicants to include student jobs, volunteer work, fixed-term contracts and internships, because in Denmark all experience counts. Say which kind each role was; otherwise a recruiter assumes a standard full-time job.
Mention a move with your family
If you already live in Denmark because your spouse found work, Workindenmark suggests saying so; if your family plans to relocate with you, it can be worth telling the employer. One line in About me is enough.

Mistakes to avoid
- Opening the profile with aspirations or career goals. Workindenmark says Danish recruiters read that as a lack of relevant professional skills.
- Sending the same profile to every employer; Danish recruiters expect it to be adapted to each job.
- Naming a foreign employer and nothing more, leaving the reader to guess what it makes or how big it is.
- Details Aarhus University suggests leaving out, such as where you grew up or what your partner does for a living.

Frequently asked questions
Should I put a photo on a CV in Denmark?
Aarhus University's career service recommends it, advising always having a picture, with a neutral background. Resumity templates print no photo, so add it to the DOCX in Word before sending.
Is it normal to mention age and family on a Danish CV?
Workindenmark says it is normal to include your age, whether you are married and have children, and what you like to do in your spare time, often under "About me" at the end. It is still your choice.
How long should the profile at the top be?
Workindenmark says 4 to 8 lines; Aarhus University suggests 5 to 7. Start with how you match the job, for example your degree and strongest hard skills, rather than with what you hope to learn.
How long should a Danish CV be?
Short and targeted. Aarhus University gives a maximum of 2 to 3 pages for a targeted CV, and Workindenmark's rule for the work experience section is to keep it short but include all that is relevant.
Do Danish employers want references on the CV?
Not usually. Aarhus University says listing them is not necessary and "references available upon request" will do.
Will applicant tracking systems read this Henrietta PDF?
The sample PDF read back with its contact details, all 5 section headings and all 7 bullets intact in three open-source text extractors (pdf.js, pdftotext and pypdf). Commercial systems such as Workday, Greenhouse or Taleo were not tested, and each employer configures its own.

- Workindenmark (Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment): A good personal profile counts, and Personal profile: do's and don'ts (Profile typically at the top, 4 to 8 lines, listing the top three competences that match the job and updated for each application; the do's and don'ts page says not to open with aspirations or career goals, which Danish recruiters read as a lack of relevant skills.)
- Workindenmark (Danish Agency for Labour Market and Recruitment): Work experience (Explain foreign companies (what they produce, size, location); describe results with numbers if possible; include student jobs, volunteer work, fixed-term contracts and internships; keep it short but include all that is relevant.)
