React developer resume template
Short answer
Meridian is a safe fit for a React developer: no colour, skills in labelled rows above the jobs, and a Projects section before education for an open-source package. The fictional sample has five years of TypeScript and React on data-heavy dashboards, including a move to Next.js, a 10,000-row table that scrolls smoothly and a component library three teams share.

Why Meridian suits a react developer resume
React postings are specific about the ecosystem around the library: Next.js, TanStack Query, Redux Toolkit, Testing Library. Meridian prints those as labelled skill rows above work experience, so a screener matches them first and then reads bullets about rendering and state. Its grey rules keep the page calm.
Second choice: FAANGPath. FAANGPath has the same order with full-width heading rules and a dot after each skill label, if you prefer a slightly stricter look.
What goes in each section, in Meridian's order
Meridian prints its sections in a fixed order, the same in the PDF and the Word file. Here is that order for this sample, and what to put in each section.
- Professional Summary. Say what kind of React you write: dashboards, e-commerce, content sites. Then one sentence on your strongest area, such as rendering performance, data fetching or component architecture. "React developer" alone is too common to place you.
- Skills. Write the ecosystem as postings do: React, Next.js (App Router), TypeScript, TanStack Query, Redux Toolkit, React Testing Library, Playwright. Leave out libraries your team replaced years ago unless the job mentions them.
- Work Experience. React bullets should show decisions, not just screens: why you virtualised a table, how you moved data fetching into a cache, what server components changed. Add the effect: bundle size, smooth scrolling, code deleted, teams adopting your components.
- Projects. An npm package, a merged pull request to a well-known React library or a small app with a write-up. One or two highlights each, with the repository linked.
- Education. Degree and year. A degree outside computing is normal in frontend work; the sample lists a mathematics BA without apology.

React Developer, TypeScript and Next.js
Atlanta, GA | sofia.marchetti@example.com | (404) 555-0165 | github.com/sample-sofia-marchetti | linkedin.com/in/sample-sofia-marchetti
React developer with five years on data-heavy web apps in TypeScript. Led a move from Create React App to Next.js and built the component library three teams share; strongest on rendering performance and data fetching.
Experience
React Developer, Fairmount Analytics, Atlanta, GA (01/2023 to Present)
- Led the move from Create React App to the Next.js App Router, route by route, with server components for the spend reports pages.
- Rewrote the transactions table with virtualised rows and memoised cells; scrolling 10,000 rows no longer drops frames.
- Replaced hand-rolled fetching and caching with TanStack Query, deleting about 2,000 lines of loading-state code.
- Built the shared component library (42 components) with Storybook docs and React Testing Library tests, now used by three teams.
Frontend Developer, Brightwater Learning, Atlanta, GA (05/2021 to 12/2022)
- Built quiz and grading screens for teachers in React with Redux Toolkit.
- Split the bundle by route with React.lazy, cutting first-load JavaScript by about 40 percent.
- Added Playwright tests for sign-up and assignment submission, run on every pull request.
Projects
use-grid-keys: An open-source React hook for keyboard navigation in data grids, published on npm.
- Around 300 weekly downloads; issues and releases handled on GitHub.
Education
BA, Mathematics, Piedmont State College (05/2021)
Skills
React, TypeScript, Next.js (App Router), TanStack Query, Redux Toolkit, CSS Modules, Accessibility, Vite, Storybook, React Testing Library, Playwright, GitHub Actions, Code review, Pairing with designers
How to make the sample yours
State your router and rendering setup honestly
If your app runs on the Pages Router, or on Vite with React Router, say so. Interviewers will ask about server components the moment you list the App Router.
Pick your state story
Redux Toolkit, Zustand, TanStack Query, Context: keep the ones in your codebase and give one bullet on why the team chose them.
Measure rendering work with the Profiler
The sample mentions dropped frames in a long table. Use React DevTools Profiler or browser performance traces for your own numbers, and name the fix: memoisation, virtualisation or splitting a context.
Keep a testing line
Testing Library and Playwright show you protect the UI you build. If you write few tests, list the ones you do write rather than dropping the subject.
Replace the dashboard domain
Change "spend dashboards" to your product. Fintech, health and analytics teams look for people who have put dense data on screen.
Keywords to keep where they are true
Terms this kind of resume is usually searched for. Use the posting's exact wording, and only for work you have done.
- React
- TypeScript
- Next.js
- React Server Components
- hooks
- TanStack Query
- Redux Toolkit
- React Testing Library
- Playwright
- Storybook
- code splitting
- list virtualisation
- component library
- accessibility
Mistakes to avoid
- "React, React.js, ReactJS" as three separate skills. Once is enough.
- Class components and lifecycle methods presented as current work, unless the job maintains old code.
- Every package in your package.json. Keep the ones you chose or know in depth.
- A portfolio of tutorial to-do apps. One real project with a README beats five clones.
How the sample PDF reads in text extractors
We exported this sample with Resumity's PDF exporter in Chrome on 2026-10-29 and read the file back with three open-source text extractors. This shows whether software that turns a PDF into text can recover it; it is not a test of any commercial applicant tracking system. How we test templates.
| Extractor | Name, email, phone | Headings | Bullets intact |
|---|---|---|---|
| pdf.js 4.10.38 | All found | 5 of 5 | 8 of 8 |
| pdftotext (Xpdf) 4.00 | All found | 5 of 5 | 8 of 8 |
| pypdf 6.13.0 | All found | 5 of 5 | 8 of 8 |
Frequently asked questions
Should a React developer resume mention plain JavaScript?
Yes, briefly. JavaScript and TypeScript belong in the skills row, and one bullet that shows browser fundamentals (events, the DOM, performance) helps when an interview goes below the framework.
How do I show React Native experience on a web React resume?
Add it as a skill and give it one bullet if you shipped with it. If you want mobile roles, a resume built around store releases serves you better.
Do open-source contributions matter for React roles?
They help when they are visible and merged: a fix in a library people use, or a package with real downloads. List them in Projects with a link.
Should I list Next.js separately from React?
Yes. Postings often ask for Next.js on its own, and it implies routing, rendering and deployment decisions that React alone does not.
What if all my React experience is at one company?
That is fine. Show range inside the role: a migration, a performance fix, a shared library and testing work cover most of what a hiring manager looks for.
Will applicant tracking systems read this Meridian PDF?
The sample PDF read back with its contact details, all 5 section headings and all 8 bullets intact in three open-source text extractors (pdf.js, pdftotext and pypdf). Commercial systems such as Workday, Greenhouse or Taleo were not tested, and each employer configures its own.
