Resume template for Poland, with the Polish consent clause

Short answer

Meridian works for a Polish CV: profile, skills and languages, then jobs in reverse order, education, and a final section for the data processing consent clause that EURES describes under Polish CVs. Keep it to one or two A4 pages. The templates print no signature, so sign the clause on paper or in Word. The fictional sample is an accounts payable team leader at a Kraków shared services centre, applying in English.

Why Meridian suits a Poland resume

Meridian prints skills in labelled rows above the jobs, so the sample's SAP and Coupa experience and its English and German levels come before the jobs. Its extra list prints at the very end of the page, which is where EURES places the consent clause, and its plain grey rules suit a finance role.

Second choice: Henrietta. Henrietta keeps a conservative black and grey business look and prints education straight after experience, if your degree or ACCA studies are the stronger argument.

What goes in each section, in Meridian's order

Meridian prints its sections in a fixed order, the same in the PDF and the Word file. Here is that order for this sample, and what to put in each section.

  1. Professional Summary. Three lines: the process area, the scale (entities, invoice volumes, team size) and your working languages. In an English-language application to a Polish employer, this paragraph is the first proof of your English.
  2. Skills. EURES lists additional skills as a standard part of a Polish CV. For shared services, that means the finance systems you use daily and your languages with a level; the sample uses CEFR levels.
  3. Work Experience. Newest job first: Warsaw University of Technology's careers office calls reverse chronology the rule. Keep Polish company names exactly as registered; the same office says not to translate the names of Polish employers in an English CV.
  4. Education. In an English CV, translate the name of the university and the degree, as the careers office suggests. Leave copies of diplomas and certificates out of the application; it advises against attaching them.
  5. Consent to data processing. EURES describes a consent to the processing of personal data under the CV, citing the Polish Personal Data Protection Act of 10 May 2018 and the GDPR, confirmed with a handwritten signature. Resumity prints the clause as the last section but cannot print a signature, so sign a printed copy or insert a scanned signature in Word.

How to make the sample yours

Fit it on one A4 page if you can

EURES says a Polish CV should take one, at most two, A4 pages, and Warsaw University of Technology's careers office says one page is enough for someone with little experience. Resumity templates are A4, so the preview matches the printed length.

Translate the clause with the CV

The careers office says to translate the consent clause when a Polish employer asks for documents in a foreign language, and to add a second clause if you want the employer to keep your CV for later recruitment. Change the wording to name the employer you are applying to.

Leave the clause off for employers abroad

The same office notes that the clause is a requirement of Polish law only, so drop the last section when you apply to a company outside Poland.

Photo only for international firms

For an English-language CV, the careers office says the photo and date of birth are left out, though a photo may be added for an international company based in Poland. These templates print no photo; add one in Word if you decide to.

Keep Polish names and characters

Do not translate your name or your employers' names. The careers office allows dropping Polish diacritics in the text, but the sample keeps them (Wróbel, Podgórze) because that is how the names are registered.

Keywords to keep where they are true

Terms this kind of resume is usually searched for. Use the posting's exact wording, and only for work you have done.

  • accounts payable
  • invoice processing
  • purchase-to-pay
  • month-end close
  • accruals
  • supplier reconciliation
  • vendor master data
  • SAP FI
  • Coupa
  • shared services
  • payment runs
  • process automation
  • team leadership
  • English
  • German

Mistakes to avoid

  • Adding the Polish consent clause to an application for a company abroad, where the careers office says it does not belong.
  • Reusing a clause that names the last company you applied to. Read it again before every application.
  • Attaching scans of diplomas and work certificates to the first email; the careers office advises against sending copies of documents.
  • Translating your employers' names into English instead of keeping the registered Polish names.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a GDPR (RODO) consent clause on a Polish CV?

EURES describes a personal data processing consent placed under the CV, citing the Polish Personal Data Protection Act of 10 May 2018 and the GDPR, signed by hand. Warsaw University of Technology's careers office adds that it is a Polish-law requirement, so leave it off for employers abroad.

How long should a CV be in Poland?

One A4 page, two at most, according to EURES. Warsaw University of Technology's careers office says one page is enough for someone with little work experience.

Should I add a photo to a Polish CV?

For an English-language CV, the Warsaw University of Technology careers office says photo and date of birth are left out, though a photo may be added for an international company based in Poland. Resumity templates print no photo; add one in Word if you choose to.

What personal details go on a Polish CV?

EURES lists name, surname, address, phone and email as the personal data employers expect, followed by professional experience, education, qualifications and additional skills.

How do I sign the clause if I send the CV by email?

Resumity prints no signature. Open the DOCX in Word and insert a scanned signature under the clause, or print the page, sign it and scan it.

Will applicant tracking systems read this Meridian PDF?

The sample PDF read back with its contact details, all 5 section headings and all 7 bullets intact in three open-source text extractors (pdf.js, pdftotext and pypdf). Commercial systems such as Workday, Greenhouse or Taleo were not tested, and each employer configures its own.
