Digital marketer resume template
Short answer
Meridian works for a digital marketer because its skill rows sit above the jobs, showing the full spread of channels you run before any job title. The fictional sample is the one-person digital team for a 14-gym fitness chain, handling paid social, Google Ads, email automation, conversion tracking in GA4 and local listings, after three years running an outdoor shop's online store and email.

Why Meridian suits a digital marketer resume
Meridian prints labelled skill rows above the jobs, and the first question about a digital marketer is breadth: which channels and platforms can you run? Rows naming paid social, Google Ads, email automation, GA4 and the store platform answer it in two lines, and the colourless page with grey rules stays tidy on screen or printed for an owner.
Second choice: Leslie. Leslie moves experience ahead of skills and adds a blue header; better once your campaign results are stronger than your channel list.
What goes in each section, in Meridian's order
Meridian prints its sections in a fixed order, the same in the PDF and the Word file. Here is that order for this sample, and what to put in each section.
- Professional Summary. List your channels and the size of team you work in. A generalist who runs everything alone and a specialist inside a large team are hired for different jobs, so say which you are in the first sentence.
- Skills. Technical holds channels and methods (paid social, search ads, email automation, local SEO, conversion tracking); Tools holds the platforms. Name the ad platforms and the email tool, because "social media marketing" on its own is too vague to search for.
- Work Experience. Give the budget you managed, then one result per channel that matters to the business: cost per lead or trial, email conversion, calls from listings, return on ad spend. Tracking work deserves a bullet, because it is what makes every other number believable.
- Education. Marketing, business or communications on one line. Short platform courses can go in skills, or in a certifications line while they are current.

Tyler Brooks
Digital Marketing Specialist, Paid, Email and Web
Columbus, OH | tyler.brooks@example.com | (614) 555-0129 | linkedin.com/in/sample-tyler-brooks
Digital marketer with five years running online channels for a regional fitness chain and an outdoor apparel shop: email, paid social, Google Ads, local SEO and the website. Works as a one-person team, so plans, builds, launches and reports each campaign from start to finish.
Experience
Digital Marketing Specialist, Ironleaf Fitness, Columbus, OH (04/2022 to Present)
- Run every digital channel for 14 gyms on about $25,000 a month: Meta and Google Ads, email, the website and the Google Business Profiles.
- Rebuilt the free-trial email sequence in Mailchimp with branches by membership type; trial-to-member conversion rose from about 18 to 24 percent.
- Moved tracking to GA4 with conversion events for trial sign-ups and calls, so ad spend is judged by cost per trial.
- Cut cost per trial on Meta by about 30 percent by testing creative every two weeks and shifting budget to the best-performing locations.
- Rewrote the 14 location pages and set up a review request flow; calls from business listings grew at every gym.

How to make the sample yours
State the budget, even roughly
A monthly ad budget tells a hiring manager what scale you are used to. "About $25,000 a month across Meta and Google" sets expectations in one clause.
Use the number your owner watched
Gyms count trials and memberships, shops count orders and revenue, B2B counts leads. Rewrite the sample's bullets around the figure your employer looked at each week.
Show the tracking you built
GA4 events, Tag Manager, call tracking or UTM conventions. Many small businesses have none of this until a digital marketer sets it up.
Cut channels you only touched
Leave out TikTok or affiliates if you posted twice. Depth in four channels reads better than a mention of ten.
Lean toward a specialism when the posting asks
Applying for a paid media or email role? Put that channel's bullets first within each job and add detail; the generalist breadth then supports the specialism.
Keywords to keep where they are true
Terms this kind of resume is usually searched for. Use the posting's exact wording, and only for work you have done.

Mistakes to avoid
- Listing every social network and tool without one result from any of them.
- Quoting likes and followers as the main outcome when the business counts sign-ups or sales.
- Hiding that you worked alone. Running every channel yourself is a strength for small employers, so say it.
- Using retired tool names, such as Universal Analytics, for current work.
How the sample PDF reads in text extractors
We exported this sample with Resumity's PDF exporter in Chrome on 2026-10-29 and read the file back with three open-source text extractors. This shows whether software that turns a PDF into text can recover it; it is not a test of any commercial applicant tracking system. How we test templates.

Frequently asked questions
Should a digital marketer specialise or stay a generalist?
Both work. Small companies and agencies serving small clients hire generalists; larger teams hire channel specialists. Write the resume for the job in front of you, leading with the channels it needs most.
How do I show results with a small budget?
Use efficiency figures: cost per lead, return on ad spend, conversion rate, email revenue per send. A small budget spent well is good evidence, and the employer reading your resume may have a small budget too.
What if I did marketing under a non-marketing job title?
Keep the real title and describe the marketing work in the bullets: campaigns run, budget, results. The headline under your name can say "Digital Marketer".
How long should a digital marketing resume be?
One page for up to about ten years. Most of the space should go to results by channel, not to a long list of tools.
Should I include freelance or side-project marketing?
Yes, if it adds a channel or a result your main job lacks, such as running ads for a local business. List it as a short entry with the client type and one figure.
Will applicant tracking systems read this Meridian PDF?
The sample PDF read back with its contact details, all 4 section headings and all 8 bullets intact in three open-source text extractors (pdf.js, pdftotext and pypdf). Commercial systems such as Workday, Greenhouse or Taleo were not tested, and each employer configures its own.
