Full stack developer resume template

Short answer

Leslie works well for full stack developers: it prints work experience straight after the summary and ahead of skills, so features built end to end are read before a long list of frameworks. The fictional sample builds internal tools in C#, ASP.NET Core, Angular and SQL Server for a property management company, and each bullet names both the screen and the data behind it.

Why Leslie suits a full stack developer resume

Leslie prints experience ahead of skills. A full stack skill list is long by nature (two languages, two frameworks, a database, a cloud), and letting the end-to-end features come first stops the page reading like a keyword dump. The centred blue header adds a single touch of colour and nothing more.

Second choice: Meridian. Meridian prints skills above experience with no colour at all; choose it when the posting is a checklist of frameworks you want matched first.

Leslie template details and test results

What goes in each section, in Leslie's order

Leslie prints its sections in a fixed order, the same in the PDF and the Word file. Here is that order for this sample, and what to put in each section.

  1. Professional Summary. Name both halves of your stack in the first sentence and the kind of software you build in the second. "Internal web apps on .NET and Angular" is clearer than "full stack developer passionate about end-to-end solutions".
  2. Work Experience. Write bullets that cross the stack: the form, the API and the table in one line, then who uses it. Add one bullet on delivery (a pipeline, a deploy, a test suite) and one on fixing something slow, so the reader sees you can follow a problem from the browser down to the query plan.
  3. Skills. Leslie prints labelled rows with a dot after each label. Keep server and browser languages and frameworks in Technical, databases, cloud and CI in Tools. If the posting names a version (Angular 17, .NET 8), match its wording where it is true for you.
  4. Education. Degree and year. Information systems or a field outside computing is common in full stack work; list it as it is.

Aisha Bello

Full Stack Developer, .NET and Angular

Minneapolis, MN | aisha.bello@example.com | (612) 555-0191 | linkedin.com/in/sample-aisha-bello | github.com/sample-aisha-bello

Full stack developer with five years building internal web apps on ASP.NET Core and Angular. Works from the SQL Server table to the form a property manager fills in, and owns the pipeline that ships it.

Experience

Full Stack Developer, Granitefield Property Group, Minneapolis, MN (04/2023 to Present)

  • Built the maintenance request app end to end (Angular forms, an ASP.NET Core API, SQL Server tables), replacing an emailed spreadsheet for 140 property managers.
  • Added photo upload to Azure Blob Storage with server-side file checks, so tenants can attach pictures to a request from a phone.
  • Set up the Azure DevOps pipeline with unit tests and automatic deploys to staging; release prep went from half a day to under an hour.
  • Read SQL Server execution plans for the slow vendor report and added two indexes; it now loads in under two seconds.

Junior Developer, Ridgeway Software Partners, St. Paul, MN (07/2021 to 03/2023)

  • Fixed defects and built small features across three client ASP.NET MVC applications.
  • Wrote the first Angular screens for a client scheduling app, plus the Web API endpoints behind them.
  • Added xUnit tests to an untested billing module before refactoring it.

How to make the sample yours

Swap the stack pair for yours

Common pairs are React with Node.js, Vue with Laravel, Angular with .NET or Java. Change the headline, summary and skills together so they agree with each other.

Keep the users in the bullets

The sample says 140 property managers use the maintenance app. Internal tools rarely have revenue figures, so the number of people who depend on them is your scale.

Do not split yourself into two people

Resist a "Frontend" and a "Backend" sub-list under each job. One set of bullets that each touch both layers is what makes the full stack claim believable.

Admit your lean

If most of your time goes to one side, let the bullets show it and say "front-end leaning" or "back-end leaning" in the summary. A clear lean is easier to hire for than a vague even split.

Name where the code runs

Azure App Service, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, a Kubernetes cluster: say where your code is deployed and whether you built the pipeline or used one.

Keywords to keep where they are true

Terms this kind of resume is usually searched for. Use the posting's exact wording, and only for work you have done.

Mistakes to avoid

  • A skills section with three browser frameworks and three server ones you each used once. Pick the pair you use every week.
  • Bullets that describe one layer only, so a reader cannot tell whether you built the API or just called it.
  • Claiming the database work when a DBA or another team did it. Say what was yours.
  • Leaving out deployment. Full stack often includes getting code to production; say who did that part.

We exported this sample with Resumity's PDF exporter in Chrome on 2026-10-29 and read the file back with three open-source text extractors. This shows whether software that turns a PDF into text can recover it; it is not a test of any commercial applicant tracking system. How we test templates.

Frequently asked questions

Should I call myself a full stack developer or a software engineer?

Use the title the posting uses if it matches your work. Your official title can stay on the job line; the headline under your name is where you match the role you want.

How do I show I am stronger on one side of the stack?

Say so in the summary and let the bullets carry the weight. A hiring manager can place a clear lean; an even split that the bullets do not support raises doubts.

Do internal tools count as real experience?

Yes. Name the users, what they did before your tool existed and what changed after. Internal software often has stricter data rules than public apps.

How many frameworks should a full stack resume list?

One browser framework and one server framework you know well, plus any second one you have shipped production code in. Long lists invite questions you cannot answer in depth.

Will applicant tracking systems read this Leslie PDF?

The sample PDF read back with its contact details, all 4 section headings and all 7 bullets intact in three open-source text extractors (pdf.js, pdftotext and pypdf). Commercial systems such as Workday, Greenhouse or Taleo were not tested, and each employer configures its own.
