Dear [Hiring manager’s name],
I’m applying for the Senior Customer Success Manager role for your enterprise accounts. I manage 18 enterprise accounts worth about ₹14 crore ARR at an HR and payroll software company; last year that book had 94% gross and 109% net revenue retention.
Your posting focuses on onboarding and adoption. I rebuilt our onboarding into a 60-day plan with fixed milestones, and median time to first payroll run fell from 75 to 48 days. I also built a health score in Gainsight from logins, tickets and payroll runs; it flagged four at-risk accounts early. Three renewed. The fourth taught me to involve the economic buyer much earlier.
My quarterly reviews are built on the customer’s own usage data, and I agree next-quarter goals with HR and finance leaders, not just the system admin. I started in support, so I still read tickets: twelve help articles I wrote from repeated questions cut tickets on those topics by about a third.
Your customers are mid-size employers in India and Southeast Asia, the same segment I serve now. I’d welcome a conversation about how your team splits renewals and expansion with sales.
Thank you for your time.
Kind regards, Meera Pillai
Adapt it to your own application
- Define your retention figures the way your company did, and be ready to explain them.
- Include one lost-account lesson; it shows judgement.
- High-volume CS roles: talk about scaled programmes (webinars, journeys) and book size.
- Moving from support: lead with renewals or adoption you influenced.
