Dear [Hiring manager’s name],
I’m applying for the Senior Business Analyst role on your lending platform. I’m the lead analyst on a loan origination platform for a private-sector bank, where I own a backlog of 180 user stories with the product owner and run UAT with branch and credit users.
Your job post asks for process improvement. I mapped the as-is and to-be loan approval process in BPMN across five departments; removing two duplicate checks took average approval time from six days to three and a half. In UAT, 92% of test cases passed in the first cycle, because every story carried acceptance criteria written with the business.
I use data to set priorities. Eighteen months of application data in SQL showed where applicants were dropping out, and that analysis decided the next two releases. In a previous payments role I documented over forty API flows with partner banks.
Your move to a digital-first lending journey is the kind of programme I want to work on next. I’d welcome a conversation.
Thank you for your time.
Regards, Pooja Deshpande
Adapt it to your own application
- Name the artefacts you produce, such as BRDs, user stories, BPMN maps and UAT plans.
- Show one change your analysis caused, with a before-and-after.
- Domain-heavy roles: name the products and regulations you know.
- Freshers: use an internship or project where you gathered requirements, and mention ECBA if you hold it.
